Caulking

Caulking is when a urethane or silicone base or latex caulking is used to seal around doors, windows, sidewalks, patios, steps, concrete, brick driveways, or any cracked masonry structure to prevent water from entering the joints to keep freeze-thaw damage from occurring.

Caulking for Active Cracks in Masonry: Forced Expansions

There may be active, living cracks called forced expansions that appear most commonly in foundations, porches, garages, and any other area that has vertical masonry structure. An active or living crack simply means that the crack is still moving due to settling. To remedy this, we install a high-performance sealant that mimics masonry mortar joints and looks the same visually. The sealant is flexible and allows the crack to stay active without allowing any water to enter and cause future damage.
